During the COVID-19 lockdown, I found refuge in the bush and the Scribbly Gums. Time was used to document and research these trees and the moth that creates the marks on the tree trunks. The mark-makings left behind are literal impressions of the larvaeā€™s growth cycle, holding the stories of the creatures and the bush. To be used in ritual, these objects ask the user to embody the moth, the motions of drawing becomes the visual manifestation of travel, myth and a way to trace our own journeys, much like the creature mapping out its life.
